About Des Collines Seniors’ Services

Our History

Following the 2008 Seniors’ Forum, held in La Pêche, several needs of seniors in the Collines-de-l’Outaouais were identified. Eight main themes of intervention are identified:

  • Food & Nutrition
  • Listening and wellness
  • Dwelling
  • Leisure & Volunteering
  • Health & Prevention
  • Public safety
  • Home Support
  • Transport

A citizen mobilization follows, supported by the CLD des Collines-de-l’Outaouais and the CSSS des Collines and leads to the formation of a provisional committee that aims to establish an organization that meets the needs of seniors in the territory. More than two years of reflection and mobilization will be necessary to make the project a reality.

The Table autonome des aînés des Collines holds its founding meeting on October 10, 2012, with the participation of more than 65 citizens and several organizations. The mission, the general regulations and the 2012-2014 action plan are tabled at this event. Since then, we have repeated the exercise until the 2018-2020 action plan.

The Collines-de-l’Outaouais RCM includes six municipalities: Cantley, Chelsea, L’Ange-Gardien, La Pêche, Pontiac and Val-des-Monts.
